Still lacking that killer instinct (05.12.03)

A GOOD win over Marlow failed to placate Maidenhead coach Simon Edwards this week, as he criticised his payers for a lack of killer instinct.
He said: “We didn’t convert pressure into points. In the first half they (Marlow) had territory but never looked like scoring a try.
“But in the second half it was all us and we only scored twice.
“That’s the part of our game that concerns me and it’s something I’m working hard to address.
“We do just enough to win games and it’s that lack of killer instinct that could cost us the league.
“Our defence is good and I was very pleased with our discipline. But we have to put sides like Marlow away.”
After the match, Marlow coach Mark Weedon said he was satisfied with his side’s efforts and believed it was a defeat they could move forward from.

Tomorrow (Saturday), Maids are away to Bournemouth side Oakmeadians, kick-off 2pm, while Marlow welcome lowly Salisbury to Riverwoods.
