They shoot horses don't they? (12.09.02)

FIRST team coachTony Brooks was given plenty of food for thought during Maidenhead’s last-gasp win over Swanage & Wareham in the Powergen Cup on Saturday.
In a rather scrappy match, the visitors caused problems for the Maids in every department and only lost the game due to their skipper’s ineptitude with the boot.
Brooks said: “If that game had been an injured horse, they would have shot it.
“It was pretty dour stuff.
“Our scrummage was an area for concern and we need to work on that.
“But we also need to eliminate the unforced errors, of which there were many.
“Generally we defended quite well, but if they had kicked their goals they would have won it at a canter, and they should have done.
“Their kicker should have kicked himself, except he’d probably miss.”
Coincidentally, the two sides meet again at Braywick tomorrow (Saturday), for what promises to be a highly-charged league clash, and Brooks will be hoping for a much improved performance this time round.
He said: “We can play a lot better than that, so it could be interesting.”
