MAIDENHEAD
churned out another result In South West Division 2 (East) on Saturday,
beating struggling Grove 19-13.
The game seemed to be in the bag by half-time but Maids completely
switched off after the break and almost found themselves on the
losing end of a battling comeback.
Coach Tony Brooks said: Its almost as if we get to 19
points and think Game over.
It was one-way traffic in the first half. We scored 19 points
without reply.
Then all of a sudden the game changed.
They stepped up a gear and we didnt. And that just isnt
good enough.
The players dont seem to know what the problem is. I
have asked them that question.
But I think there are several reasons for it and some of those
are being put right this week.
One thing is certain, if Maids take their foot off the pedal against
unbeaten league leaders Oxford Harlequins at Braywick on Saturday,
(kick-off 2.15pm) they are going to get beaten.
However, Brooks saw one potential advantage in a tightly contested
match, saying: Were going to have to be on top of our
form
But in a top-of-table clash were unlikely to get 19
points ahead.
