Maidsin the comfort zone (09.01.03)

MAIDENHEAD extended their unbeaten run in South West 2 (East) to nine games on Saturday, with a rugged, bloody and ultimately comfortable 21-5 win over a tough Stow on the Wold side.
Coach Tony Brooks said: “It was a tough physical game. But that’s Gloucestershire rugby.
“I had a chat with the referee at half-time and warned him if he didn’t referee certain areas of the game there would be a flare up. And that’s what happened.
“But ultimately it was a comfortable win. In the second half they didn’t get near our try line. They never looked like scoring.”
Tomorrow (Saturday), Maids face Salisbury at Braywick, kick-off 2.15pm, who secured a narrow home win over Abbey last week.
Brooks said: “They’re going to be up for it.
“They are all quite tough games in this league, but we’re looking forward to it.”
