Bruiser at Branstaple ( 23.01.02)

A PROMISING performance from Maidenhead on Saturday has prompted coach Simon Edwards to predict a rare win in the West Country tomorrow (Saturday).
Maids lost 31-16 to Weston-super-Mare at the weekend, but Edwards thinks that with more composure to add to his team’s possession, a win could well be on the cards and he thinks tomorrow’s match at Barnstaple could be the start of a resurgence in the club’s fortunes.
He said: “It is always disappointing to lose but any team that can win 12 games on the trot in this league is a top side and I don’t think we should be too downhearted.
“I think we matched them in terms of territory and possession and I just think our decision making was poor on the day.”
And he added: “We haven’t beaten Barnstaple for three years and we should be under no illusions about the difficulty of the match, but I believe we are a win away from getting a good run together and I don’t see why that shouldn’t come tomorrow.”
