focus on fourth local derby (19.12.03) |
A FOURTH
local derby in the space of five games sees Maidenhead back in league
action at Braywick tomorrow (Saturday), when they face old rivals
High Wycombe, kick-off 2.15pm.
Maids won 37-3 when the two teams met in late November, but coach
Simon Edwards claimed he was taking nothing for granted.
He said: "It's an awkward one for us. We beat them quite well
at their ground but they were always in it.
"They have a decent pack and they work very hard.
Wycombe also have an added incentive for tomorrow's clash, as they
seek to move away from the foot of the table.
Edwards added: It's make or break for them now. Christmas
and New Year will probably decide whether they survive in this league
or not.
They will probably be targeting a game like this and they
will be coming to beat us. They will also have players back from
injury. They were no where near full strength last time.
The game is equally important to Maidenhead, however, who have to
keep on winning if they hope to finish the season on top of the
heap.
Edwards said: This is a must win game for us and we have to
win it well if we want to close the gap on Swanage.
Weve been looking at ways of scoring more points. The
key is getting into the scoring zones and then being clinical.
You have to come away with three, five or seven points.
