3rds poor performance aginst Didcot

Maidenhead 3rds 14 v Didcot 33

Saturday 26th November 2006

Maidenhead 3rd XV delivered a poor performance on Saturday going down 33 to 14 to bottom of the league Didcot.

Maids under achieved through out the game except for a few touches of brilliance that have seen them win their last three fixtures and storm up the table. Didcot kicked off and the Maidenhead forwards were able to retain the ball and feed the backs who progressed easily up the field. A penalty allowed David Goodman to put the ball in the corner but maids let them selves down and Didcot swooped on the opportunity and ran the ball finishing in Maids 22. Maids let in two tries from poor defensive tackles and the conversions were successful leaving Maids struggling for the rest of the half.

Maids took an early opportunity in the second half from a well worked penalty which saw the ball move through both the forwards and the backs with wing David Williams the eventual try scorer. Maids continued to make unforced errors giving the away side 18 unanswered points.

Maidenhead's John Sudbury scored a late try with the help of debutant and Penn Motor Company man of the match Nick London who stood out with his strong defence and penetrating burst up the middle of the park. Rob Wilkins Converted.
