Maids travelled away for an exciting 22 to 12 victory that had all the hall marks of Maids rising to the top of their game again. Redingensians had the bigger pack and were able to control the scrums and mauls which led to their opening try from the back of the scrum five metres out. They missed the conversion and the next twenty minutes were played end to end with both sides trying to take a strangle hold of the game. Maids were the first to strike with Penn Motor company man of the match Dave Williams running over for the first of three with a marvellous turn of speed to put him in the corner. The next try followed soon after from a barn storming run by Tony Rawlings who fell just short of the line. Williams pounced on the opportunity and gave Maidenhead the advantage going into the break. The second half was a forwards affair with both sides trying to dominate. Maids used quick ruck ball but were often overturned by by a the well drilled Reds pack. Maids countered with another outstanding run from Dan Robinson where the ball was swiftly given to David Goodman to chip to the corner where Williams scored his hat trick. Ed Poulding went over in the final minutes with another fine display of running rugby leaving Maidenhead confident for this weeks final game against Aldermaston before the Christmas break.
