2nds save their best till last

Maidenhead 2nds 44 v Witney 2nds 5

Saturday 3rd February 2007

On a great day for rugby, Maids 2nds didn't disappoint the crowd!

We played some cracking rugby as individuals and as a team. This game was again a top of the league clash with all the niggle, ready to go.

After the first 25 mins it was 0-0 and the nails were beginning to take a pasting. Witney brought a big pack and were well up for the game, Maids again had a game plan and executed it to perfection.

Maids looked to keep the tempo up and ran the game stepping up in defence and producing the quick ball we were craving in attack. Tries started to come with Dave Logan deservedly getting over in the forwards and Alex Cannon in the backs.

The first half ended a close fought game with both sides entertaining at a high level.

The second half was all Maids', as we sped the game up and the bigger Witney pack started to suffer Pete Nesbit producing the magical side step we all thought had passed him by, not once but twice to start the scoring.

Karl Kempton woke up sniffing the opportunity to score a brace producing the kind of score line we were looking for.

This weekend brings up the first round of the BERKS CUP against Windsor at Braywick (2.15 KO) so the more support we can get the better.
