Colts suffer defeat

Maidenhead Colts 17 v Amersham & Chiltern Colts 36
Sunday 10th December 2006

Maidenhead Colts suffered their first league defeat in 2 seasons losing 17-36 to Amersham & Chiltern on Sunday.

Having been 17-0 up in the second half Maids became complacent and let Chiltern back into the game conceding six tries in 20 min.

It was so different in the first half when maids went into the lead with a well struck penalty from Dave Hodgson. Mike Burnett continued his weekly try tally as he rolled over to score in the corner. Hodgson converted to make it 10-0 at half time. Early in the second half Maids put together their best move of the match when from the Chiltern 22 Scott Lowden passed down the line. Slick well-timed passes from the entire back line gave Chris Adam an easy touch down. Hodgson added the extras.

Then Maids relaxed and let Chiltern back in. As Chiltern sniffed a comeback their heads went up and Maids' heads went down.

A lessoned learned and not to be repeated in the next league game against Newbury.

Maids squad:
Chris Adam, Mitch Batten, Max Bishop, Mike Burnett, Alex Cannon, Peter Gull, James Henley, Dave Hodgson, Andy Hogan, Chris Holden, Luke Knowles, Scott Lowden, Liam Lynch, James Makurumure, Tom Morgan, Brin Munn, Chris Parrott, Marcus Shah, Mike Skelton, Gareth Whyte.
