Beaconsfield Colts 0 v Maidenhead Colts 43
Sunday 30th October 2005

Maidenhead maintained their recent good form with a 43-0 victory in their BBO League match at Beaconsfield.

The home team never took a backward step and Maids' performance occasionally stuttered in heavy and windy conditions and against such tenacious opposition. However, with the bonus point secure with the fourth try, Maids were able to give all their 22-man match squad a run, and still scored seven tries while keeping their own line intact.

The try hero was once again Sam Stefan, who started on the wing, popped up all over the field as usual and scored his second hat-trick in as many matches. No Sam, it's not getting boring! David Hodgson, who was a tower of strength in the centre, scored two tries and kicked four splendid conversions, while the other scorers were Alex Cannon from full-back and Andrew Hogan, who sealed a brilliant movement by appearing from the far left wing to score in the right hand corner.

Some of Maids interplay was outstanding. Perhaps the key figures were up front, where the powerful Sam Brown and James Emanuel were on superb form, while Luke Knowles contributed a fine half on the flank. Ollie Styles and Matt Wardle at half-back again controlled play well. Maids have a week off because of county duties but their preparations for their National Cup match at Braywick against Amersham and Chiltern are already at fever pitch
