Well, this weekend sees the start of a big 4 weeks for Maids with the first of our three crucial relegation games coming up

Although we gave them a trouncing 40-18 at Braywick at the beginning of the season (those were the days), nerves and importance will probably make this a closer affair

Reading are rumoured to have brought in a new team for the last part of the season, this should not worry the Maids though as we know that we are 40 points better than them and just need to play to our full potential

Make sure that you are there to support the boys, it is only 10 miles down the A4 and should be a great atmosphere, as it always is at Reading

Perfect for a family day out as you get dropped off at the game and the rest of the family hit Reading Oracle - perfect

Get Fit This Summer

Entries for the Spring Touch League are now open and it would be great to see some teams competing from Maidenhead RFC squads, supporters, coaches and even sponsors

Now in it's second year at Braywick, touch rugby is returning this summer for another season. This a great opportunity for some fun but also gives participants an ideal opportunity to maintain their fitness and skills during the off-season, without the risk of injury

Some information
The League runs Men's and Mixed Divisions, with teams of 6-a-side playing (a squad of 12 players is ideal)

The Maidenhead/Slough League will be held at Braywick Park, Maidenhead, on a Tuesday evening, starting on 29/04/08 and run for 8-weeks

KITX works with Maidenhead RFC

New club shirts are expensive and often last only a single season before they are too small.  Some may only be worn a dozen times!

Don't throw them away!

Kitx has agreed a deal with the club to buy that grown-out of shirt!  Donate it in the clubhouse (look for the Kitx basket).  Only shirts in a condition smart enough to be worn when representing the club, please.

Kitx will make a donation to club funds for each shirt received

Kitx will then resell these shirts to parents and club members and will pay the club commission on every sale.  Remember, we can only sell the shirts you we can buy.   Help the club raise funds, help yourself and other parents save money, donate your unwanted shirts today!

Rugby Trivia

---

The referee Colonel W S D Craven was so unhappy with the scrummaging in the France vs Wales international in 1920 that he fed the ball into the scrum himself to make sure of a straight feed

---

Jean Sebedio, coach of Lezignan, France in 1920 had an unorthodox approach to training sessions. Sebedio, who was a French International, would sit in the centre circle wielding a whip and wearing a sombrero while his players trained around him. It obviously worked as Lezignan won the French Championship in 1929

(sounds mild compared to Maids U15 coaches - The Ed)
