Fair play to the U6s at London Irish Festival

Sunday 28th March 2010

Maidenhead Under 6s had a fantastic day out at the London Irish Festival last weekend and played 3 excellent games of "Tag" rugby.

The boys have worked really hard over the past months to be ready for their first taste of playing rugby in a competitive setting and not one of them gave anything less than their absolute best. For all the coaches, led by Ceri Hughes, and the very vocal parents, it was a proud day to say the least. Special mention must be give to Iwan Hughes who scored a hat-trick in the first game, consolidation try in the second and two tries in the third, along with Finlay Cooper who scored one of the best tries from an English player in a long time!

Even though the boys didn’t win a game, they stayed very happy and focused throughout which led to them being given the “fairplay” award which enabled the boys to do a lap of honour around the Madejski Stadium in front of 15,000+ people. Well done boys!
