U15 Rangers score 7 tries against Bracknell

Bracknell U15B 0 vMaidenhead U15 Rangers 43
Berkshire League Div 2

Sunday 7th March 2010

It was perfect conditions for running rugby on Sunday at Bracknell and Maidenhead did not disappoint. Martin Harris ran through in the second minute to score. Skipper, Matt Martin, followed shortly afterwards with two tries of his own as Maids threw the ball around and showed magnificent support play. When Louis Crossley received the ball in space on 22 minutes at the halfway line he needed no support as he raced, swerving around Bracknell's dispirited defence to score under the posts. With the bonus point now secure, Jon "the hand off" Pomroy concluded the half's scoring and Maids led 0-29 at the break.

Robbie "Bolt" Cleveland made a blistering run to score just as Harris had done in the first half virtually from the whistle. Then Bracknell understandably made some substitutions to strengthen their defence and this proved very effective as they made a territorial comeback in the second half. Maids defended the line with great determination to keep the attacks at bay. Eventually having been camped on the Maidenhead line for several minutes, Crossley broke down the left and was well supported by debutante Josh Stack who danced across the line to get the seventh try of the morning. Final score Bracknell 0 Maidenhead 43. Man of the Match was birthday boy, Kieron "wet shorts" Egan.
