Maids U14A were hosts at Braywick to a league side from Bracknell RFC on the weekend in pleasant weather conditions of sunshine. Maidenhead and Bracknell surged up and down the pitch, evenly matched for the first ten minutes, Maids' first points came from a penalty conversion by fly half Lee Neale. Continued Maidenhead pressure forced Bracknell to concede a scrum from which Rhys Rolle drove over the visitors' try line just before half time, Lee Neale converted. Maidenhead 12 Bracknell 0. Maids opened the second half by marching a maul over the Bracknell 22 only to have the ball ripped out and taken by an alert Bracknell winger down the touch line until intercepted by prop Jodie Dance who bundled him over the touch line. After 10 minutes, Bracknell kicked the ball forward and the Maidenhead full back was unlucky in trying to reach the bobbling ball which trickled over the line, a Bracknell player falling on it to take the try. Bracknell converted taking the score to 10-7. The second half continued to be tightly contested with Maidenhead scoring another penalty conversion to take the score to 13-7. Bracknell came back strongly and, with just 5 minutes to go, scored a forwards' try to take the score to 13-12. However, Bracknell missed the conversion and, shortly after the restart, the referee blew for full time, resulting in a win to Maidenhead. A very tight match was contested with tremendous spirit and the mutual respect between the teams was clearly evident after the match. The final score was Maidenhead A 13 points, Bracknell 12.
