U11Bs stun Wallingford

The Maidenhead U11 Bs (the 'Mighty Midgets') sprung into spring and turned in their performance of the season today against Wallingford.

After spending the cold winter months concentrating on rucking, powerful forward play and getting the ball all the way down the line in the backs, everything fell into place today against a stunned opposition. Gregory, Hedouin and Holden owned the scrums with surging second row charges from Green and Banks and then Price-Blackburn. Line-outs were well drilled and with excellent ball delivered to Captain Peberdy at scrum-half. Peberdy projected the ball down the line, where backs Moreland, Curran, Clegg, Hickey, Cowland and the inspired Sanders - switched, side-stepped and dummied to mesmerise the visitors.

Despite a small squad for the day, commitment and strong tackling from the Maids limited opportunities for Wallingford and then amazing three-quarter moves and support-play led to memorable tries from Clegg, Moreland, Sanders and Peberdy and a great 20-5 victory. Bring on the rest of the season....the Mighty Midgets are hungry and waiting!
