Maids title hopes suffer

Maids' title hopes suffered a dent as they fell to a hard-fought 12-0 defeat away to Thatcham 2nds.

For once the Maids pack came off second best against the well-drilled home side, who enjoyed the bulk of possession throughout and were well worth their 7-0 half-time lead.

It was testament to the visitors' fine defensive work that they remained in the contest until Thatcham added their second try in the dying minutes to seal victory.
