Wallingford 2008 On a cold, wintery morning November the U7s laid siege to the Wallingford festival in the hope of reaping rewards. It was fair to say that Jack Frost and Iced Chill won the day but we performed very well in difficult conditions. 12 hardly souls braved the journey north. It says a lot for the children's enthusiasm that some played in both squads throughout the day so we were not left short. The Dragons were paired in a group of three with their recent nemesis Tring As whilst the Lions were in a larger group of four. On this occasion the Lions failed to win a match in their group, losing all by the odd try in high scoring games. Their lack of success did not diminish what was an outstanding effort with scores being shared across the team. The Dragons was on the other hand were better rewarded for their endeavours. Whilst losing to narrowly to Tring they did enough to get to the Plate Final where they met the home club Wallingford in the final. With the support of all coaches, parents and the U8s we more than matched their vociferous local crowd. The Dragons produced some outstanding Tag Rugby to run out winning 7-3 at a canter. It was truly an outstanding performance by all. Dragons - Max, Owen, Eleanor, Cai, Jack, Oliver Lions - Charlotte, Vinny, Louis, Sammy, Alex, Columbus
