Good start for U14s at London Irish

Sunday 21st September 2008

London Irish A 28 Maidenhead A 19

Maidenhead A team had seven players out through injury and were up against a bigger more physical Irish side containing three England U14 rugby league players. Three more Maids players had to leave the field early due to various knocks but despite this Maidenhead competed very well and matched the home side especially in the forwards. Small errors were punished clinically with tries but Maids came back very well in the latter stages losing in the end 19-28. Lewis Kiddell deserves special mention for the try saving tackle of the day.

London Irish B 15 Maidenhead Rangers 27

Despite going three tries behind, Rangers proved much the stronger as the game progressed scoring five tries without reply in an excellent moral boosting performance. Due to the very warm conditions, both sides made several changes bringing on a few boys who played in the first game.
