U14s A tournament. Maidenhead came up against some very strong opposition with all games played at a very competitive level. Maidenhead were joined by Dunstablians, Harrow, Pentrych and Winchester. Maidenhead lost the opening game 0-5 to Tring then went two tries down in their next game against Winchester. Emi Repetto scored in the second half but Maids just missed out on the equaliser. Against our Welsh visitors Pentrych in our third match, tries from Colin Kerins, Jon Pomroy and Emi Repetto put the home side 15-5 up but agonisingly two tries in the last few minutes gave Pentrych an undeserved 15-15 draw. The last game against Dunstablians was scrapped due to the Bedfordshire sides injury crisis. Winners Harrow. Runners-up Winchester U14s B tournament. A strong Maidenhead Rangers side opened the tournament against a Tabard A team winning 10-0. Two tries from Alex Brown and Martin Harris flattered the visitors. The second game was won 20-0 by an Amersham & Chiltern side including several A team players. The game was closer than the score suggests but the difference was the influence made by the Bucks side first team boys. Zach Gagnon scored the only try in the tight final game against Winchester Development to ensure the boys received runners-up medals from Wasps centre Dominic Waldouck. Maidenhead player of the tournament was George Dutton. Winners Amersham & Chiltern. Runners-up Maidenhead Rangers |
