U11As dominate a weak tackling Ruislip team
Maids
AS 40 - Ruislip As 5
In wet and blustery conditions, Maids U11s got back to winning ways
with a try-fest in a potentially difficult away fixture at Ruislip.
Started in the first half with some strong surging runs from Dan Cutler
at fly-half; he set up a number of tries for both the forwards and
the backs. Scott Prince scored 4 from a new position on the wing,
Umar Marriott showed excellent strength at prop to drive over for
another couple, Joel Greene scored from the half way line having made
a good tackle and ripped the ball free. Dan also scored one himself
after a strong run from the back of a ruck. Other good performances
came from James Millwater in at scrum-half, Will Lawrence in the unfamiliar
position of full-back and Shane McKenna at second row.
U11Bs
showing great spirit to come through a tough game
U11Bs
20 - Ruislip Bs
5
A tough fought battle, with some great experience gained by several
newcomers, who showed good skills. Up against a very physical Ruislip
side, the B's showed great character to keep going when things got
a bit rough. In the first half Conor Dunne burst through from a maul
to score his first try for Maidenhead. Ruislip replied soon after,
but then maids pushed in to lead again following a strong drive from
Jack Nicholls, with Tom Kynaston getting the score. Ruislip evening
the score again and it looked like the game was delicately poised
until a couple of tries in a couple of minutes secured the win for
Maids. Firstly Alistair Graham finished off a strong drive with hard
fought try. Then Sam Hoxley caught the re-start, kicked it back up
field and the perfect weight allowed Tom Kynaston to run through and
score his second.
