4ths too strong for Aldermaston

Maidenhead IV 55

Aldermaston II 5

Saturday 31st January 2009

The strength in depth of Maidenhead's 4th team came to the fore on Saturday, with Maids supplying players from their bench to ensure their game with Aldermaston 2s continued.

The visitors had bravely agreed to continue with this fixture, despite illness depleting their numbers.  They fought hard throughout and the game was played in a good, competitive spirit, with Maids running out comfortable winners 55 points to 5.

A hat-trick secured another Man of the Match award for Mike Sloan and further points from the veteran contingent  (tries from Tony Blakely, Al McEwan (two each), Steve Bourne, Tim Anstiss and 5 conversions from Dave Goodman) made sure of another win for the resurgent Maids.

Maids 4s remain third in TVIL Divn C and face Farnham Royal at Braywick on Saturday
