U12s at the Brean Sands Tournament

Maidenhead RFC U12s recently attended the Brean Sands Minis Tournament at Burnham-on-Sea in Somerset with a large 25 man team.

6 group matches were played over two days.

Maidenhead drew on tries 1-1 with Redingensians, beat Ampthill 1-0, drew 0-0 with Cobham, lost to Old Dartfordians 2-1, beat Northampton Casuals 3-0 and drew 0-0 with Old Rutlishians.

Maids finished third in the group and played the third place finishers in the second U12 group third placers Hertford.

Maids' Front Row Rheese Rolle, James O'Connor, George Kinsgley were put under extreme pressure by Hertford. Maidenhead made chances and at one point were unlucky not to take a try when Aaron Whetton was stopped inches from the line. However, Hertford made slightly more chances and took a try against Maidenhead in the dying embers of the second half, penetrating the Maidenhead defence with their winger. The final score was Maidenhead 0, Hertford 1.

Maids finished 6^th overall.
