Maidenhead RFC U10 squads showed how their start of season training and, probably, with inspiration from England success in the World Cup, as they won convincingly at Reading RFC last Sunday. Unfortunately, Reading was only able to field 1 squad, so Maidenhead with their A, B and C squads were almost able to 'test' their players' skills against them with 3 games. In the Maids As game, strength and commitment were shown from the outset with a great run and early try for Scott Prince. This was followed by some great off-loading to Will Lawrence for the second try. Ben Lawrence scored the convincing third try and Daniel Henshaw put in another great run for Maids' fourth try. Maids were also awarded a fifth try as a penalty against Reading for 3 offences. The final score was 25 - nil to Maidenhead. In Maids' B game the squad had to fight harder but were able to perform some rolling mauls on Reading's try line for almost 2 minutes before scoring the first try. Great tackling by all throughout the game and Maids won the game 20 - nil. Finally, in Maids' C game, great tacking and ripping of the ball was evident with great runs and commitment for the Cs to win the game 1 try to nil (5-0), scored by Will Doolan. |
