Jonathan Matthews had a terrific game scoring a hat trick. Great dodging saw a magnificent try from Tom Kynaston and despite great defence from the Eagles, Alex Conchie delivered the 7th try for the Tigers. Maidenhead Lions facing an experienced Amersham team. Amersham kicked off to a fast start, scoring the first try of the game. The Lions immediately responded with a good running interception pass from Joel Greene. The rest of the first half saw a very evenly matched game on both sides, with good defensive tagging and running from each team. A further try for Maidenhead came from Oliver Malik. The second half saw some exciting play from both teams, however, Amersham were able to restrict the passing and running abilities of the Lions. Often the players were either forced into touch or simply too crowded out to allow good passing. The Lions failed to capitalize on several offside penalties opportunities. A further try to even the score came from Ben Lawrence at a time when it looked like the team were on top of the game and were in line for a win, however the last five minutes saw the Lion's defence crumble, allowing two further tries from Amersham, giving a final score of 5-3. |
