U16s sensational win over Romford

Romford kick off, scrum quickly given in Maidenhead half. Joel Rivers gains possession and takes forward, helped by David Sewell. Line out, Maidenhead win and pass to Chris Ellis who clears the ball into Romford half. Another line out Brindsley Munn catches cleanly. Maidenhead keep pressure on Romford in their 22m. Dean Rogers puts a great ball into the scrum, he passes it out to Tom Miller, who pops it up to Mike Skelton. Chris powers through to score and caps it with a conversion.

Romford kick off, Joel collects and takes forward, Dean makes a good break into Romford's 22m. Line out, Joe Scrace stretches to catch the ball, ruck forms and drives forward. Karl Clarke makes an impressive try to give a 12 - 0 lead.

Romford kick off once more only to be stopped by Maidenhead, with Corin Singh storming towards the posts to make the third try.

Maidenhead win the ruck after Romford's kick off, Guy Kynaston takes forward and passes to James Henley, who powers on to score, with Chris Ellis just missing the conversion.

Romford restarts, soon stopped again by Liam Lynch and Shinichi Assano, moving forward by Richard Parker. Chris Ellis picked up a loose ball and once again scored to finish the first half 27 - 0. Sadly Karl Clarke was stretchered off the pitch after a collapsed scrum.

The second half starts with Maidenhead still in a dominant position with a very quick try and conversion by Dean Rogers. This was clearly served by Ollie Savorani, Peter Gull and Alex Dean whose moves were outstanding.

Romford started to increase the pressure, despite a penalty against Maidenhead, James Clark won possession and the ball was finally cleared to the half way line. The ball was bouncing back and forward into each sides 22m, until Jack Penrose broke free passing along the line to Tom Bradbury, then Corin Singh who was eventually pushed into touch bringing the game to an end.

Maidenhead cheered Romford off the pitch. The under 16s proved that team work and sheer determination really pays off!! The final score was 34 - 0.
