Two boys from Maidenhead Rugby Club's under 15 squad have been selected for The RFU’s EPDG. This is the first stage of the player development process put in place as part of the RFU's strategic plan aimed at winning the World Cup in 2007 The role of the EPDG is to work closely with county coaches and development officers to identify players considered to have the talent to benefit from, and progress through, the programme The EPDG provides an entry into a long-term development programme, aimed at young players with the potential to play representation rugby at the highest level of the game. James Henderson and Christophe Bart were both selected following impressive performances for the county last season Maidenhead Under 15s Head Coach, Steve Bough says: ‘ Both players have been performing at a very high level for a number of seasons Last year was the first year of county selection and this has allowed the boys to show their skills to selectors and coaches at a higher level James is a very powerful runner and his tackling skills are second to none Christophe has a very high work rate and his elusive running always causes the opposition trouble’ For more information on the EPDG go to http://www.london-irish.com/Sub_autopage.ink?PageNo=43
