Maids showed their strength when they played Beaconsfield this week in a game where they were dominant from the start.

It began with a try between the posts from Fletcher followed soon after with another from scrum half Whittle. With Maids' confidence high Fletcher ran forward gaining ground, a pass to Woodward and onto the centres for Hanks to score a third with each one expertly converted by Roberts. A good catch from the start by Page looked promising for some repeat performances but Beaconsfield came back on the attack and moved play into their half. There was a significant period where neither team scored and good work by the forwards Harrison and Shepherd advanced play in our direction but Beaconsfields defence weakened and some excellent free flowing play by Maids were rewarded by further tries were scored by Fletcher and Bulfin following a run by Roberts from one 22 yard line to another.

Beaconsfield undeterred sharpened their defence and made Maids' work hard to get the ball into their half but a drive forward by our opponents was halted by a great tackle from Colborn making the score at half time 33-0. Half time saw an opportunity to refresh the team and our renewed energy saw some excellent play from Kerrins as fall back and scrum half Waldron lead to tries by Rogers on the wing and McKenzie as flanker.

Beaconsfield continued to fight hard to come on the attack but all their energies went into trying to stop Maids scoring but it was a difficult battle and Maids scored repeatedly with tries from Bulfin ably supported by Pepper, Fraser and Sherwin bringing the final score to 85-0.
