Convincing victory over London Welsh

London Welsh U15s 0 v Maidenhead U15s 50

Sunday 13th February 2000

MAIDENHEAD under 15s had a convincing 50-0 victory over London Welsh on Sunday.

Maids were awarded a penalty inside the Welsh 22, after a strong run by James Appleton, this was taken quickly by David Hunston and quick hands saw the ball moved down the three-quarters for Dan Evans to score.
Maids were soon on the attack again and scored their second try after 10 minutes when Daryl Brady broke down the middle of the field to score under the posts. Brady converted for a 12-0 lead.
After 15 minutes Maids made a change at fly-half and James Coyne, who has only recently joined Maids, scored with his first touch of the ball when he barged his way over. This too was converted by Brady. Just before the break Brady and Hunston went over for tries.

Early in the second half Hunston made another break to put Sam Hocking in for a score, and soon after the Welsh made their only break of the game but their winger was well tackled by Kevin Yearley.
Maids then worked their way into the Welsh 22 and Tom Lam scored his first try for Maids when he crashed through four tackles to score under the posts.
Maids final try came when Hunston kicked and Dan Evans following up gathered the ball 40 metres out and scored under the posts.
