Filmore try is highlight for U15s v Bracknell

Maidenhead U15s 22 v Bracknell U15s 10

Sunday 12th March 2000

WITH conditions ideal for an open game of rugby, Maidenhead under 15s and Bracknell under 15s kept the ball in open play and provided an entertaining game.

Maids started strongly and were forcing Bracknell to kick their way out of trouble. This gave Alexander Kent the opportunity to run the ball back at them, which he did with good effect.
Maids spent the first 20 minutes of the match in the Bracknell half with Kevin Yearley, Matty Filmore and David White performing well in the pack.

Early in the second half Robert Jones Won very good lineout ball and passed to the in-form Filmore who charged through two tackles to score an excellent try in the corner.
Bracknell were quick to reply when they stole the ball from a Maids lineout and ran in to equalise.
Maids were finding it difficult to get Greer in space, but after 15 minutes of the second half the backs moved the ball quickly and Greer rounded his opposite number to score a good try.
Soon afterwards Filmore scored the individual try of the season when he picked up a loose ball on the halfway line and handed-off two of the Bracknell three-quarters to then sprint half the length of the field to score a most amazing try for a prop forward.
Maids forwards were now producing some good, ball for the backs and Maids went further ahead when James Coyne dummied his way through for a good touchdown which was converted by Dan Evans.

Bracknell then scored a try just before the final whistle to leave the final score 22-10.
