| Maidenhead ran strongly for the line in their 36-5 win over Drifters in difficult conditions in Farnham Royal. Unfortunately, it was the dead-ball line. The muddy pitch was not marked out very clearly and twice in the early stages, excellent Maidenhead moves led to players crossing the line and then having the tries ruled out by the referee for running dead. Chris Adam finally opened the scoring after continuous waves of Maids attacks, and even then only remembered to touch the ball down inches from the partly-hidden dead ball line, this after Tom Kay and Adam had combined powerfully from a scrum. | |||

| Maids were vastly-improved after the lamentable statistic arising from their match against a steady but not invincible Richmond team - they won just one loose ball in the whole game, sending coaches scurrying back to the drawing board in terms of rucking, mauling and personal motivation. They ran up a lead of 26-0 in the first half when they had the slope in their favour. Apart from Adam's try, there were scores from Ryan Christian, Mitch Batten and Alex Cannon, this last a memorable effort after an inch-perfect chip to the blindside wing from Tom Lewis, which Cannon controlled then finished with a blistering burst of pace. | |||

| In the second half, Maids coped superbly with a rejuvenated home team and Ollie Styles lifted the siege with a try from the base of the ruck and Chris Parrott popped up to score the final try. David Hodgson kicked three conversions. | |||

| Among the most satisfactory aspects was the fact that Maids gave all available members of their squad a game, with Anthony Lewis and Chris Richardson performing splendidly, Lewis in particular giving his best performance of the season; Andrew Jones was also reckoned to have turned in his seasonal best on the blindside flank. | |||
