Half-century score as under 14s romp home

Maidenhead U14s 51 Staines U14s 0

Sunday 26th September 1999

After last week's stern task against Rosslyn Park there was an easier game for Maidenhead under 14s against Staines as they ran out winners 51-0.

Straight from the kick-off Greg Edwards and Alex Hughes took the ball forward pressuring Staines and leading to a knock-on and scrum from which Hughes broke free. He passed out to Andrew McEwan and Ross Evans who went over. A second try by Joel Jansen, converted by Mark O'Haire soon followed.

From the restart Maids moved well with the ball coming out to O'Haire who scored under the posts. The first session ended with a try from Michael Etherington with Byron Chadwick converting.

The second period started with a quick try from O'Haire. Good spoiling in a line-out resulted in a 22-metre kick for Maids and Greg Edwards took this before passing to O'Haire who ran three-quarters of the pitch to score.

Etherington then ran half the pitch before allowing Harris in and Seth Munn went over with Harris converting to complete the scoring.
