U14s on front foot at Bracknell

Bracknell U14’s 14pts v Maidenhead U14’s 50pts

Sunday 12th March 2000

MAIDENHEAD under 14s travelled to Bracknell for their fourth league game, and came away winning 50-14.

Maids started well with Date Taylor scoring an early try after winning good lineout ball. Scott Harris converted the kick.
Maids next score followed good play from Alex Blake, Nick Bastion and Toby Sears who provided good ruck ball for Riordan to break through, and Mark O'Haire to touchdown. Harris was again successful with the conversion. Then following a rolling maul Bracknell's defence initially prevented the driving Sears from scoring, but the pressure became too much allowing Doug Barrow to ground the ball.

In the second half Maids now with the slope in their favour quickly scored again. Taylor passing to James O'ReiIly with Seth Munn cutting back inside, beat the opposition to score the converted try.Bracknell replied by punishing a Maids forward pass with a converted try of their own.
However Maids were not finished yet, and the next Maids try came when scrum-half Greg Edwards nipped down the blind-side and fed Jay Marshall who ran nearly the length of the pitch. Harris converted.
Two further tries came, firstly from Ross Evans after receiving a reverse pass from Marshall, and secondly from Edwards following a fine run by Barrow, which Harris converted.
