U13s earn draw against Chippenham

Maidenhead U13s 12 v Chippenham U13s 12
Sunday 5th December 2004

Last Sunday saw Chippenham visiting Maids U13s. Not at Braywick this week because of a Mini's invasion from Marlow and Wycombe; we therefore got pushed up to Desborough school If anyone from Des is reading, thanks for the use of the facilities.

These sessions give us a chance to play the squad players in differing positions and consequently see if we are missing things or overlooking someone. So the session revolved around swapping players in roles and trying out some different tactics ready for league games.

It was a highly entertaining morning with the sessions ending 12 points all in the competitive sessions and several players showing different skills in the new postions…handling could have been better as could the tackling on occasions but it was a fair result against some big lads from Wiltshire way.

Scorers…well we normally don’t go through all that here but ….New chap Adam stood out as a talented addition to the squad and stalwart Ben proved his normal tenacious self but this time at Flanker,– both getting the tries but with only one being converted.

Hopefully we will be able to get down to Wiltshire soon - then we can say (in a heavy american accent...)we were in 'Narm' - Chippennarm
