U13s v Sutton & Epsom

Sunday 3rd October 2004

On a cold, and windy morning Maids travelled across London to a windswept Sutton to play a friendly. A cold morning was dragged even lower by a poor showing from Maids, despite early success the morning deteriorated along with the temperature.

The Maids Squad failed to tackle effectively and in key decision making points of the game they reacted too predictably … eventually leaving the cold fields losing in every quarter session they played. Under 13s is proving very challenging for the Squad.

After last weeks strong performance against Ealing this mornings rugby was disheartening. However this has been a busy week of rugby for the Squad with many having played for schools frequently in the last two weeks…the tired legs showed this morning as kicking became the preferred option to running with the ball. Some of the boys had played 6 games in the last two weeks and it showed in tired faces and slow thinking.

Best we put this morning behind us.
