Sharks
The
Sharks set the tone for the day in the opening match against Marlow,
with Forward Rory Creffield releasing Back Paul Sayers to fly over
the line. The team pressed forward with real determination and Forward
Ben Pritchard doubled the score before half-time, neatly intercepting
a Marlow pass to run clear to the line. Sayers converted both tries.
Marlow came back strongly in the second half but couldn’t dent the
Sharks’ defence or get on the scoresheet.Marlow also drew a blank
in their second encounter with the Sharks, this time shipping three
tries. After a defence-splitting run by Wing Oliver Evans, a lightening
passing move between six players ended with Back Morgan Davies sliding
in at the corner. Forwards Alex Jones, Miguela Kerrins and James Parrot
put in sterling work in the rucks to deny Marlow possession. Sayers
ran in two more tries.By now, the Sharks were unstoppable and scored
freely against a resolute Wycombe side. Sayers again made his mark
early on. An exchange of passes between Davies and Back Alex Ridgeway
set up Evans for the second. From a scrum in Wycombe’s half, Forward
Charlie Wickham-Smith took on their defence and crashed through before
Sayers capped an excellent morning’s work with the fourth try.

Marlins
The Marlins were caught
napping as Wycombe scored an easy try early on. The boys settled down
well though, spread their attacks across the field and were very unlucky
not to score from Back Paul Sweeney who was held up on the line. Forwards
James Holt and Michael James gave Wycombe a torrid time. The boys
let Marlow B’s cut through their defence for the only try of the game
but showed their mettle with Backs Matt Robert, Daniel Tydeman and
Owan Haughey putting their opponents on under pressure. After two
narrow defeats despite such good teamwork, the boys played hard from
the whistle in their second match against Marlow Bs. Owan Haughey
deservedly scored after fine work by Scrum Half Sebastian Owen and
Back Tom Bunn.
