Maids U 11's A's v Beaconsfield U 11's A's

Maids U A 11 squad took on Beaconsfield last weekend in what turned out to be a challenging encounter for both squads. The Maids squad had faced a gruelling encounter the previous week with a hard fought draw against local rivals Redingensians and needed to return to their winning form.

Typically Maids came out fighting and quickly had Beaconsfield pinned down in their own half. Pressure from the pack released on form outside centre Colin Kerrins to secure Maids first try.

Beaconsfield's challenge was passionate but they were constantly frustrated by the Maids defence.

Centre Matt Balmer made several breaks and his persistence eventually paid off with a magnificent individual try just before half time. Brave tackling by Cameron Avery and Pranav Pillai allowed Maids to retain a clean sheet into the second half.

After the break, Beaconsfield came out fighting and were determined not to allow Maids to runaway with the game. After some heavy pressure and valiant defending Maids eventually sucumbed to a late try in the dying seconds of the game.

Maids thoroughly deserved the win and looked the better side throughout the game.

Maids 10 - 5 Beaconsfield

Maids U 11's development team took on the Beaconsfield B team and rose to the challenge with real passion. Pitched against a visibly much heavier squad they were not daunted by the Beaconsfield pack. Despite going behind the Maids squad continued to fight back and wing Calum Maley secured two impressive tries to keep Maids in the game. The game eventually ending a respectable 15 - 15 draw.
