Perfect Weather for U11s trip to Windsor
Windsor U11s 21 v Maidenhead U11s 5
Sunday 19th March 2000
| Maidenhead under 11 teams
travelled to Windsor on Sunday to play the local
rivals in perfect weather conditions, well at least for
the spectators! Maidenhead
unfortunately didn't fare a well as the previous Sunday
but still had some good passages of play. The
onslaught from Windsor started the minute the match
commenced and Perry Jansen at full back found himself
under pressure early on, needing to execute a long kick
from behind the try line to prevent the Windsor outfit
from opening the scoring too quickly. Knowing
their strengths well Windsor fed the ball beautifully to
their tall strong inside centre who ran through several
players to make it 0 -5 - with the conversion it became 0
-7. The second half started better and saw a good individual run from Perry Jansen but the Windsor backs shut the move down and Maids had to regroup and plot again. Dean Rogers was quick to grab a dropped ball by Windsor and the advantage rule worked well in Maids favour and he stormed off on a strong run closely followed by forwards David Sewell, Mikey Ward and Jordan Haynes who forced Windsor into a penalty. As a result from the penalty the ball was fed to Guy Kynaston who was unstoppable in close range to the line and Miads broke their duck (5 -14.) Before the match could end Windsor scored their third try and conversion and the final result was 5 - 21. TEAM LIST |
