U11s entertain Bath and Saracens
Maidenhead U11s v Bath & Saracens U11s
Sunday 16th January 2000
| MAIDENHEAD under 11 teams
entertained teams from Saracens and Bath on Sunday. The A team faced the tough opposition well,
despite having a run of poor results recently. Maids' second game against Bath was altogether more encouraging - even though the boys lost there, seemed to be more flow and thought to their game. At the end of the first half the score was 5-0 and despite the continued efforts of the whole team, and some strong tackles from Jordan Haynes and Michael Ward the final score was 20-0. Bath and Saracens also played each other and the score finished 0-0. Maidenhead B team also played both teams on the day and had better results playing some exciting rugby. The first match was against Saracens B team and the result was a 5-5 draw with Maidenhead's try coming from Tom Crackell. Interestingly enough the Saracens try was the result of a last ditch surge for the line before the final whistle, just denying the Maids a deserved victory. Bath B team then played Saracens B team and the result was Bath 0, Saracens 24. Maids then played the Bath B team and once again it was a close affair and the Maids scored twice. The first was from the powerful Dean Rogers who looks very difficult to stop if allowed to build up a head of steam. The second try was from the nippy Joshua Cooke, but Bath also scored twice and the result was a 10-10 draw. |
