U11s valiant fight secures runners up spot

Sunday 14th October 2001

Maidenhead U11s fought valiantly to retain their three year consecutive record winners record, but finally had to settle for the runner up spot by the narrowest of margins.

The tournament was decided by the highest number of tries scores after three teams finished level on points at the end of the day. Hazlemere came out on top.

Maids' first game was against the eventual winners and a William Westren-Kaye try gave the home side a good win.

Wincehster were next to fall thanks to tries from Andrew Mudge and Jamie Watt.

Cleve proved a stumbling block, and Maids lost a close game 5-0.

A 20-0 win over Ruislip in the final match was not enough to win them the title, but nonetheless sealed a good day for the team
