No joy for U11s at Beaconsfield tournament

Sunday 9th March 2003

Despite some heroic tackling Maidenhead Under 11’s could not overcome some strong opposition at Beaconsfield’s ‘Not A’s’ tournament on March 9^th.

The Maids took on teams from Chinnor, Beaconsfield, Harpenden, Fullerians and Marlow and showed great determination and persistence in all of their games.

All were strongly contested and on occasions somewhat heated but our players kept their heads and did not allow themselves to be drawn into a brawl despite some dubious refereeing decisions.

It would be unfair to single out players when they played so well as a unit. They showed support for their teammates and great courage in defence.
