U11s poor hosts to Marlow & High Wycombe Sunday 5th December 2004 |

The whole Maids squad had a successful morning against both Wycombe and Marlow on Sunday 5th December, with all players getting a taste of victory. Maids A side beat Marlow As in a closely fought match, with all the points coming from William Thompson to secure a 7-0 win. The As went on to beat High Wycombe with a strong first half performance seeing tries from Dhruv Surya, Thomas Eckles and William Thompson once again. Conversions were from Luke Thomas, William Thompson and Duncan Jones to take the total to 21-0 at half-time. High Wycombe rallied in the second half but could not breach the Maids' defence, though they were successful in keeping us out and the scoreline the same. Maidenhead Bs now caught the winning habit and after establishing a 7-0 lead against Marlow B by half-time through an Edward Kaye try converted by Ross Brown, they went one to score a further 3 unanswered tries (2 of them converted) to finish the match 26-0 winners. Second half scores came from Sam McCarthy with a brace of tries and one conversion, and Ross Brown, with a further successful conversion from Dominik Bart. The 3rd Maidenhead side of developers now played High Wycombe's A team, and a very hard fought game saw them narrowly defeated 7 - 12, with Wycombe's bigger forwards making the critical difference. Maids points came from a try by LD Basson, converted by Iain Whiteford. The promise shown in this performance came to fruition against Marlow, where tries from Sam McCarthy, Steven Carn, Sam Scott and Dominik Bart along with conversions from Matthew Smith and Sam McCarthy saw Maids come out 22-0 victors. The final game of the morning saw a mixed team from Maidenhead take on one from Marlow and tries from George Thomas, LD Basson, newest squad member Sam McGuire , Josh Edney, Thomas Eckles, William Thompson and Duncan Jones saw Maids run out winners by 35-5. |
