U10s make hay while the sun shines at Marlow

Sunday 30th November 2003

Conditions couldn't have been more different than the week before when a total of nearly 60 Under 10s got together for a joint training session and series of matches with Marlow.

The dry conditions made for a feast of running rugby and victories for each of the three Maids sides...with an overall tally of 22 tries scored against 7 conceded!

The Tigers did most of the damage, with a rock solid defence and an attacking platform built on a tremendous forward display from Alex Avery, Huw Kmiot and Michael Trevena. The Tigers despatched Marlow B by 8 tries to 0 and then, more impressively, Marlow A by 6 - 0. Tries came from Mike Trevena, Leo Smith, Chris Dow, Will Turner, Luke Thomas, Thomas Eckles and Alex Avery.

Maidenhead Stags gave the Marlow A team a fright in a great game, but ulitimately lost out in a battling display despite a try from Dominik Bart. Revenge was sweet, however, when a marvellous display of teamwork and support lead to a 2 - 1 victory over Marlow B. Some great runs from Ross Brown and Sam Scott, with support from Edward Kaye and Shiv Khindria were finished off by powerhouses Josh Edney and Oliver Bartlett.

Maidenhead Bulls, meanwhile, were too strong for Marlow's development side, with good defence from Piers Baron and Charlie MacMichael, strong running from Alister Eaton and Matthew Smith, and the impactful Hal Orchard (2 tries) and Tarik Blake-Nanton (1) leading from the front. George Thomas scored to round off an emphatic 4 - 1 victory.
