Ex-Maidenhead RFC Youth player and Wasps's flanker James Haskell gor his second full cap against France in the World Cup warm up game. Despite a great perfomrance James just missed out on a spot in the final 30 man squad but we are sure there will be plenty of opportunities in the future.

The lastest news about James can be found on his website www.jameshaskell.com

James played for Maidenhead Minis from the age of 5 and played in the successful Maidenhead Colts team only 4 years ago.

James' father Jonathan was Chairman of Maidenhead Minis for several years and inaugurated the Maidenhead Youth tournament which is now in its 13th year.

James has represented England at U18, U19, U 21 and recently in the England Sevens and Saxons squads.

James was guest of honour at last season's Colts Sevens tournament where he presented the prizes to the winning teams. Colts Sevens 2005

James was coached at Maidenhead by Scottish International Gordon MacDonald, Mark Brady and the current Colts Head Coach John Evans. Whilst James' success is undoubtedly due to his tremendous talent and the hard work that he has put in, we like to think that the coaching and organisation of Maidenhead's flourishing youth section just might have helped along the way.

I wonder which of our current minis will be playing for England in the future?
